Upon receipt of a copyright claim, the Editorial Office and Editorial Board will conduct an initial assessment to determine whether the complaint contains adequate supporting information.

If the claim warrants further investigation:

· The corresponding author of the published article will be notified.

· The author(s) will be invited to provide a written explanation or supporting documentation.

· Additional information may be requested from either party when necessary.

· Independent editorial or legal consultation may be sought where appropriate.

The investigation will be conducted fairly, confidentially, objectively, and in accordance with internationally accepted publication ethics, including the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Editorial Decision

Following completion of the investigation, the Editorial Board will determine the appropriate course of action based on the available evidence.

Possible outcomes include:

· Dismissal of the claim where insufficient evidence exists.

· Publication of a correction or corrigendum where attribution or citation errors are identified.

· Revision of the published article to address copyright or attribution concerns.

· Temporary suspension of article access during the investigation, where appropriate.

· Retraction of the article if serious copyright infringement or publication misconduct is confirmed.

· Removal of the article in exceptional circumstances involving legal requirements or court orders.

· Restriction of future submissions from authors found responsible for serious ethical or copyright violations.

Where appropriate, corrections, retractions, or removals will be clearly documented to preserve the integrity of the scholarly record.

All editorial decisions are made after careful consideration of the evidence and are considered final.

Response Time

The Journal of Smart Computing and Data Intelligence (JSCDI) treats copyright-related matters with the highest priority.

· An acknowledgement of receipt is normally issued within three (3) working days after receiving a complete complaint.

· Preliminary assessment is generally completed within 7–10 working days.

· The duration of a full investigation depends on the complexity of the case and the timely cooperation of all parties involved.

The journal will make reasonable efforts to resolve copyright concerns promptly while ensuring due process and fairness.
